Why is it optional to hide Indigenous Peoples' Day in Google Calendar?

These are screenshots of my own phone. When you go to Settings > Holidays in United States like it says to you can remove 'other holidays' but not all public holidays or individual holidays, which I think Google needs to add. I don’t want to remove all public holidays, just ones that are offensive. In 2021, why is Columbus day still a federally recognized holiday? Columbus was a pedophile, who was so uneducated he thought he made it to India. I’m not against people having a day off with pay, I just think the day’s name needs to be changed.
