Parents of School Age Children v. Gov. Abbott of Texas

I live in Texas, I wish I didn’t though. I, like many other parents, refuse to risk the health of my under 12 years old child. School districts in San Antonio/Bexar County think that assuring us that classrooms will have hand sanitizer and that some, though not all, classrooms will have a water fountain designed to fill bottles, is enough to convince us that operating Abbott’s way is safe, which it is not. Some districts stated they will inform parents if there are positive cases of COVID-19 at their child’s school, but others have not said either way.

I will likely have to homeschool my son. I would rather he go to school, but I will not risk his health. Today, I thought, mayors and county judges could write a million letters to Abbott asking him to give them the authority to mandate masks and he still wouldn’t budge. I can think of only one way to get Abbott to at least allow cities/counties to make decisions on masks and whether to require the Covid vaccine, file a lawsuit against him. I think it could be argued that Abbott is endangering public health.
